How do you know natural release is done?
What Is Natural Release? Instant Pot natural release is when you allow the Instant Pot to cool down by itself, releasing steam slowly. When the food is done cooking, the Instant Pot will automatically release steam gradually until the float valve drops down. This could take up to 30 minutes.
Does keep warm prevent natural release?
Keep warm doesn't affect natural pressure release. It only kicks on heat when the contents drop to 140f.
Why does my Instapot say keep warm?
When pressure cooking is done, the Instant Pot will beep and automatically go into the “Keep Warm” function. It will display an “L” in front of a number to indicate how long it's been warm – e.g. “L0:30” for 30 minutes. It's a great feature to keep food warm (145 to 172°F) for up to 99 hours, 50 minutes.
Do I hit cancel for natural release?
So, assume a Natural pressure release will take 23 minutes…if you cooked a quart of liquid. Keep Warm mode doesn't affect natural pressure release. It finishes at about the same time either way, so don't bother canceling it.
How do you know when natural release is done?
A natural pressure release is when you leave the pressure release switch in the Sealed position when the cook time ends. This lets the pressure release slowly, without you doing anything. When the pressure is fully released, the float valve will drop and the lid will unlock and open.
