What is in Doc Q lace?
Docusate is a stool softener. It works by increasing the amount of water the stool absorbs in the gut, making the stool softer and easier to pass.

Is Doc Q lace safe for pregnancy?
Do not use Doc-Q-Lace without a doctor's advice if you are pregnant. It is not known whether docusate sodium passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby.
What is docusate sodium?
Docusate Sodium is the sodium salt of docusate, a dioctyl salt and an emollient laxative with stool-softening activity. Docusate decreases surface tension and emulsification of fecal matter and allows water to penetrate and mix with stool. As a result, it softens the stool. Sodium docusate is an organic sodium salt.
Is Docusate safe to take daily?
Are there any risks to taking a stool softener on a long-term basis? A. The risk of problems from long-term use of stool softeners such as docusate sodium (Colace, Regulax SS, other brands) really isn't the issue.
