What is the difference between truffle and chocolate?
Chocolate truffles are round and dusted with cocoa powder. The name “truffle” comes from their resemblance to mushroom-like fungus, considered a delicacy of the same name. The main ingredient besides chocolate is heavy cream. Basically, all truffles are fine chocolate and cream with a ganache filling.
Can you lose weight by eating chocolate?
Studies show that dark chocolate may reduce cravings and promote feelings of fullness, which may help support weight loss. In one study in 12 women, smelling and eating dark chocolate decreased appetite and reduced levels of ghrelin, the hormone that stimulates hunger ( 10 ).
Is it OK to chew chocolate?
Turns out chocolate isn't meant to be chewed. Next time, press it to the roof of your mouth, suck, and then let it melt there for about as long as you can stand it.
Should you eat chocolate before bed?
Chocolate High levels of caffeine in chocolate make it a poor choice for late-night snacking. During the latter stages of sleep, caffeine consumption can cause rapid eye movement (REM) to occur more frequently, which is why you're more likely to feel groggy the morning after the night before.
Will chocolate help me sleep?
Unlike caffeine there is no evidence that Theobromine will keep you awake – indeed there are studies suggesting that theobromine can help people sleep (see blog for references). Chocolate also contains tryptophan, which stimulates serotonin and melatonin. And serotonin and melatonin are believed to help sleep.
