Does baking soda have corn in it?
Not to be confused with baking soda (bicarbonate of soda, sodium bicarbonate), baking powder is a mixture of chemical leavening agents with starch. The starch in every common baking powder is corn starch, but Hain Featherweight baking powder uses potato starch. I've only found it in "health" or "whole food" markets.

How can I get free corn?
If eliminating corn flour from your diet, use a variety of these foods as alternatives:
- Fiber: beans, bulgur, wheat, barley, rye, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds.
- Phosphorus: beans, peas, dairy products, nuts, seeds, meat, poultry, seafood, amaranth, quinoa, wheat.
What can I eat with corn allergy?
Choose fruits, vegetables, whole gains, 100% juice, and lean protein (chicken or meat). And be careful with these products that can have corn in them: baking powder, cornmeal, corn oil, vegetable oil, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, maize, and corn bran. Instead of corn or vegetable oil, use canola oil.
Does oatmeal have corn in it?
Consider old-fashioned oatmeal, as well, as a valuable breakfast choice that is nutritious and naturally corn-free. Other breakfast foods to avoid are poptarts, frozen waffles, pancakes and syrups made with corn syrup.
