Is ribeye the same cut as prime rib?
A ribeye steak is cut from the same primal rib section as the prime rib into individual slices before cooking, and then trimmed. One prime rib can be cut into seven ribeye steaks! Unlike a prime rib, ribeye steak is not roasted slowly in the oven.
Can I use a ribeye roast for prime rib?
Prime rib is sometimes called a "standing rib" roast, because the bones enable it to stand upright for roasting, even though most people cook them down for better roasting these days. A ribeye roast is cut from the same area as a prime rib roast - but removes the bone before cooking.
Can you freeze prime rib roast?
